Managing Consultant - CPG

As a Managing Consultant, the individual will lead client engagements in marketing effectiveness and optimization, present insights from advanced marketing mix models, test & learn models consult clients on effective sales and marketing programs with the use of simulation and optimization tools and guide their spends deployments for driving toplines and effective portfolio management.

The individual will be expected to provide problem solving and thought leadership in client’s business planning sessions, work with global advanced modelling teams to innovate new solutions and serve as a passionate advocate for the client in advancing solutions that will best build the client’s long-term business. Success is measured by creating measurable business value for the client while at the same time maximizing the revenue potential for firm.

Responsibilities of Managing Consultant:

Account Management/Client Focus:

  • Develop a deep understanding of the client and their industry; key business/ industry drivers including business initiatives, industry trends, competitive landscape and marketplace dynamics.
  • Add strategic value to the relationship and grow from initial opportunities to multi-year relationships.
  • Own senior level client relationships and skilfully navigate issues and roadblocks that come with managing a large, complex client relationship.
  • Responsible for client retention by proactively identifying client risks or opportunities and effectively responding to client needs.
  • Should the role include Multi-Client Account Management: Successfully manage multiple deliverables or projects for multiple clients, Track and organize resources towards multiple work streams against multiple clients, and manage time and resources against changing priorities

Analytic Skills:  

  • Expertise in consulting on marketing spends and business optimization, demonstrated ability to problem solve new business challenges, analyse, interpret data and translate models into meaningful solutions for clients:
  • Approach client with coherent, actionable and fact-based data/recommendations appropriate to their business needs
  • Continually provide analytical solutions and business insights to address any business gaps and/or opportunities and create value for the client, guide and working closely with global modelling teams
  • Identify business issues and opportunities and suggests the appropriate level analytic solution/approach

  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills; present a professional image:
  • Trusted by client, client solutions teams, cross functional organizations, business partners and be considered a domain expert and business partner
  • Educate the client on institutionalizing analytical decision making, shape their thinking and influence the decisions they make
  • Demonstrate a flexible approach to communication; adapt messages quickly to the appropriate level or function with poise and polish
  • Strong executive level presence

 

Desired Skills & Experience

  • 7-10 progressive years of experience in consulting on Marketing spends effectiveness & integrated business optimization. Expertise in digital marketing/ cross channel optimization (O2O) will be highly valued.
  • An advanced degree in a quantitative discipline is preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication and interpersonal skills: the ability to manage and mentor functional experts and lead cross- functional teams
  • Experience in, and knowledge of CPG, Retail, eCommerce are a definite plus
  • Demonstrated expertise in translating data and analysis into relevant implications
  • Proven ability to consult with clients to influence thinking and drive company’s business agenda.
  • Must be willing to travel frequently to client locations in the US
  • Must be a US Permanent Resident or US Citizen
